Our speakers were Linda Grogan from the Pediatrics Department, and Amanda Sears from Carroll County Hospital Foundation.
The club made a donation to the hospital to buy a breathing apparatus for preemies.

Officer of the Year and his family

The club honored our Officer of the Year. The honor went to Officer Daniel Kruger, of the Baltimore County Police Department, Franklin Station. He is the Community Outreach Officer.

Jim and Teresa Zinkham

Jim and Teresa Zinkham came to talk about the Baltimore Area Special Hockey, Inc. , which offers an ice hockey program for both children and adults with a brain injury or developmental disability such as Autism and Down's syndrome. This program provides participants the opportunity to play ice hockey in an environment adapted to each of their ability. Special Hockey is not only recreational but therapeutic.

Andy Lucas was presented with 2 awards.  First, Andy became an honorary member of the Kiwanis Club of Reisterstown. His second award was for making the best Oyster Stew for our Kiwanis Club Oyster and Shrimp Feast.

Governor Elect Don Dudey and Past President Ed Guy
The Kiwanis Club of Reisterstown has received the distinguished club award for 2006-2007.  Governor Elect Don Dudey presented the award to Ed Guy, who was the club president for those years.  The award is given to a Kiwanis Club that has met services and leadership program requirements set by Kiwanis International.  These include programs such as K-Kids, Builders Club, Key club, Circle K, Aktion Club, Kiwanis Junior, Priority One, Read Around the World, Terrefic Kids, and Key Leader.




Mrs. Doris Hoffman of the Historic Reisterstown Room at our local library was our guest pseaker.  This year is the 200th anniversary of the founding of Reisterstown.  Mrs. Hoffman told us about the life life of John Reister and reminisced about our past.
